At Fulton Science Academy, we provide an academically rigorous curriculum that is complemented by supplemental components designed to foster student growth and achievement. Our community is highly engaged and actively collaborates to identify opportunities that meet the individual needs of our students.
By combining these pieces, we are able to offer a range of enrichment opportunities to enhance the academic and personal development of our students which includes small group counseling, individual counseling, classroom guidance, and consultation with parents and school staff to ensure that each student receives individualized attention and support.
Role of a Counselor
We offer a comprehensive counseling program for students in all grade levels, provided by certified school counselors who hold a minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling.
This program is designed to meet the academic, career, personal, and social-emotional needs of students, promoting their growth and success.
We implement character education and social-emotional learning (SEL) programs, which includes research-based classroom guidance lessons that are designed to promote soft-skill development, college and career readiness, study tips, stress management, conflict resolution, and other identified areas of concern.
Small group counseling provides a supportive learning environment for students with shared concerns, such as self-esteem, social skills, and grief/loss. Individual counseling offers tailored support for specific student needs including academic, college and career, personal, and social-emotional. Students and families are encouraged to reach out to the counselor and to take advantage of our comprehensive counseling program to achieve success in school and all aspects of life.
